If you’re trying to decide which career you’d like to pursue, or are thinking about changing your career.

Using the Careers Coach you can use our assessment tool to find out what your interests are and how they relate to the world of work. The Careers Coach provides Career and industry suggestions and information based on your interests, providing information on relevant salaries and required qualifications:

Careersometer

The Careersometer tool can be used to explore and compare key information about  occupations to support the process of identifying potential careers.

This tool helps you compare national average wages and working hours for up to three occupations at once.

• Try typing in a job that you’d like to investigate and then select a match from the list to see the data 
• You can then include a second and third choice to view the comparison if required
• Be aware that this is national average data, but you can use it to help you get a bigger picture of the potential opportunities on offer 
• The Careersometer widget provides access to a selection of headline data relating to pay, weekly hours of work and future employment prospects. The data are organised by occupation: simply type in the title of the job you are interested in and the widget provides a series of options from which you can select the most relevant to you.

Skillsometer

Skillsometer can help you discover what jobs you might like to do in the future. You will be presented with a series of statements. Select the emoji that shows how you feel about each statement. You will be given suggestions of jobs linked to what you most enjoy doing.

A skills assessment can be helpful at any stage of your career, like when you:

Transferable skills are a set of skills that you’re good at. You can build them up over time, through work, volunteering, education and life.
